Roof Replacement with New Decking, Underlayment and Dark Shingles

A complete roof replacement on a two story house surrounded by trees. The old gray shingles were taken down to the boards, the deck was repaired and covered with new plywood, and a new underlayment and dark shingle roof went on. The first image compares the old and new roof from a similar angle.

The Tear-Off

Down to the boards, then back up.

The crew removed the old shingles down to the roof boards, exposing the eaves and the deck beneath. Damaged areas were replaced with new plywood decking so the new roof has a solid base.

The New Roof

Underlayment, flashing and dark shingles.

New underlayment and flashing went on first, including around the chimney, followed by dark shingles with a clean ridge line and new white gutter and trim. The crew also installed new soffit and fascia.
